When Chris and Michelle Michael started Meaco in 1991 the aim was to specialise in monitoring and control equipment for museums and art galleries. In 1992 Meaco developed the world's first radio based environmental monitoring system in conjunction with the Victoria and Albert Museum in London. This gave Meaco a much higher profile and over the next 10 years Meaco established itself as one of the most important suppliers of humidity monitoring and control equipment to museums across Europe.In 1999 Meaco were approached by Mitsubishi Electric to become their sole distributor for their range of portable dehumidifiers in the UK.

Outstanding fans. Quiet, efficiently move the air around. Eco setting excellent. Have 3 1056 fans for my house and have bought others for my parents and in-laws. Strongly recommended.

I ordered the meaco ddl8jnr. Yesterday online And only 24hours later I took delivery From guilford to Hamilton in central Scotland. That's what I call fast & efficient The dessicant dehumidifier looks to be really well made It also seems to be drawing in plenty of water Thank you to everyone at meaco.

Not worth a star, but no other option. PLEASE BE AWARE. Terrible customer service. 20L Dehumidifier was bought, less than 3 months then broke WHAT A JOKE! Please don't trust their products and if you already have one please take care of yourself and family. Luckily i was home as the dehumidifier started producing burning smell I switched it off straight away and called Meaco.

They will try everything to get away from warranty although the after sale agent mentioned twice over the phone that it will be covered under warranty, because it was bought from a trusted seller. Caitlin from customer support team was handling my case but wouldn't talk to me when I call? Chris telling lies about warranty and changing his story every single time I call him?

I think the owners should invest more money on training their employees in customer services. Please DON'T BUY THEY ARE SCAMMERS when it comes to warranty. ****UPDATED AFTER THEIR LYING REPLY: CHECK ATTACHED PHOTO AND EMAIL. THIS ITEM WAS ((((MANUFACTURED 2018)))) so they don't honor the warranty hahaha. I already contacted trading standards. SEEMS LIKE YOU EXPERT IN LYING I WISH YOU CAN IMPROVE YOUR CUSTOMER SERVICE SKILLS AS WELL.

Wow! What can I say about this company and its products? Purchased a dehumidifier about 18 months ago. Dehumidifier has been fantastic. then about 6 weeks ago it developed a fault. Contacted Meaco, and the service from beginning to end was world class! Everything. correspondence. repair. service. turnaround. Was expecting the dehumidifier to be away for a good few weeks. was back a week later.

Working perfectly. Like it's brand new again. Honestly. I can not say enough good things about this company. The staff. the products. everything. just the sheer professionalism. if more companies / businesses were run like this and human being were as nice and as friendly and as understanding as this the world would be a much better place. If I could give 10 stars I would.

In a matter of fact. If you're looking for a dehumidifier and a great company. go with Meaco. You won't be disappointed. To Meaco and all the staff. Thank you so so much for an amazing and world class service

I am a simple person. See elephant buying product :-) Honestly, I am happy with Meaco home dehumidifiers ( got today my Zambezi DD8L) working great. Always great support over the phone. One one thing I would suggest - make them dehumidifiers work via wi fi remote control.

We bought a Meaco 20L Dehumidifier on a Which Best Buy recommendation and having trialled an alternative. I couldn't be more pleased with the product. It was originally bought to prevent damp and mould in an old property and completely sorted the issue. Having moved house, we've gone on to use it as a low energy alternative to a tumble dryer and it's been brilliant.

A very well designed and made product from great British company. It may be made in China (like your iPhone and most of the quality electrical items you own) but Meaco is a top end brand and thoroughly recommended.

Absolute joke of a company. I had a feeling they were going to worm their way out of the warranty when they were giving me the run around asking lots of questions about my dehumidifer. After sending photos they told me it's because of the "condition of the machine" without even inspecting it! I have attached the photos. Yes, there is some surface dirt but certainly not something that should affect the machine considering a) it is less than 2 years old and b) it is used in the application they literally put in their description i.e my garage.

A car company does not turn down a warranty if the car is not clean but clearly Meaco does. Oh but they did offer me 20% discount on a new product as a "gesture of good will". As if I'd entertain buying anything from these scam artists again.

I have just purchased a Meaco Zambezi dehumidifier which is now plugged in and hopefully will provide good service. HOWEVER, having spent a lot of time researching products before ordering, I am annoyed to discover the machine was manufactured in China. Meaco's website definately gives the impression that they are manufacturers and a British company. Putting union jacks on the box is deceitful and misleading. I notice from reading other reviews that i am not the first person to feel mislead by this company. Disappointed.

I would like to thank the help desk staff for their kind and generous assistance in resolving a problem I created. I typed the wrong house number on my order. Life is fairly stressful at the moment - the subsidence in my house led to the mains water supply springing a leak- hence the need for a dehumidifier. They really did go that 'extra mile' to resolve the problem. Just a thought - it would help if there was a drop down menu when you type your postcode into the box on the on-line ordering screen. It might have saved me from my mistake

Upright fan is whisper quiet and has the power of a jet engine. A must have for summer. The price is so worth how good this fan is. I would say this fan is as good as the fan that cost a fortune but has no blades and rhymes with Bison if not better and I'm a supporter of that brand too. The dehumidifier DD8L Zambezi is also a brilliant buy. Drys a full 9-10kg washing load in about 4-5 hours to bone dry and drys your humid air so fast.

It gently heats the room too so in winter helps with heating as well as clearing the air of moisture. Dehumidifier had an issue after a years use and dealt with Meaco direct. Customer service was excellent and had the machine back in a week fully fixed under warranty. Perfect service. I will be buying more fans and an air conditioner from Meaco in the future due to high quality products, superb customer service and overall great experience with products. Well done Meaco keep doing what your doing. A very satisfied customer

Update 08-03-2010 Just over a year after having bought the dehumidifier (and about 8 weeks out of guarantee), the heating element on it went, meaning it no longer worked. I rang the company and - to cut a long story short - they arranged for it to be picked up, repaired and delivered - at no cost to me. Absolutely brilliant. ------------------------------- Meaco are a leading supplier of office and domestic air-conditioning appliances, which also includes humidifiers and dehumidifiers, commercial fans, air purifiers, electric heating, central heating and towel heaters, as well as fixed and portable air-conditioning equipment. Meaco are the only suppliers of certain brands of equipment in the UK.

Although it is possible to call at the showrooms (address above), they recommend you call first to ensure that the model you want is in stock, as the main warehouse is at a different location. That said, most customers buy via the internet. If you place an order for most items before 2pm, they guarantee next-day delivery, although they don't deliver on Saturdays or Sundays, which is a bit of a pain. (Small items under 50 value are sent by Royal Mail and so can be delivered on Saturdays).

This was certainly my experience: I called first to see if the item was in stock, and placed my order at 1.30pm, and it arrived safely as predicted. A downer is that their delivery contractors can't predict a morning or afternoon call, so you have to set a whole day aside, which is a bit of a pain. The website is very easy to use, and helpfully informative, with lots of product information. I've found their telephone contact line one of the most helpful ever, and - oh joy! - it's a freephone 0500 number and not an 0845 number! An extra star for that! If you prefer a land line, it's (01483) 566688. Overall, they do what they say on their website!
